Messerschmitt Bf109 E-3 – build report Part 2

It’s time for some update of work on the Eduard 1/32nd scale Messerschmitt Bf109 E-3.

I did wash in the cockpit, detailed tutorial can be find in here, installed engine and and did all the work necessary to prepare the model for painting.

So without further ado let’s jump in to photos, enjoy.

– Engine is assembled straight out of the box, but it has enough details that with some weathering it looks really nice.

_dsc5653

– It has been painted using Tamiya XF-1 Flat Black, exhaust has been painted using Tamiya XF-9 Hull Red, for aluminium part I used AK479 Aluminium from Xtreme Metal range of AK Interactive.

– Weathering has been done using dry brush technique and Tamiya XF-16 Flat Aluminium

_dsc5659

– Cockpit and engine glued to half of the fuselage, there is no fitting problem so the work is very pleasant.

_dsc5675

– Look on the great photo etched instrument panels. Fuselage and wings have been glued together.

_dsc5680

– Profipack edition comes with masking sheet so protecting the transparent parts is a very fast process.

_dsc5684

– Bf109 requires now protecting the inner parts before painting.

So far the building process was smooth and besides some small fit issues there were no major problems.
